I'm always surprised when I consider how long I've been training people - over 25 years! Some of that time I worked with an Industrial Training Board, some of that time I was the National Training Manager for a chain of department stores and for over 10 years I have run my own company - doing it my way.

My way is quite simple really... to help people progress and learn by taking an active part in their development. It's no secret that if people have fun whilst doing something (anything) they will get the most from it. So that's what Arc is all about - take part, have fun and learn!!

There is nothing more satisfying than someone revitalising and increasing their skills along with their confidence to use them in the workplace.

I enjoy what I do - my specialist areas are the 'soft' skills - such as train the trainer, leadership, motivation, delegation. I personally don't 'do sums' nor do I profess to be a legal expert - but I know someone who can! We therefore have a number of quality assured associates who work with us when required.

If we can make a difference we will - if we can't we'll tell you.

I have been working with Arc People Development now for about 5 years. One of the main reasons for this is that I really believe in what they do and how they do it. Ensuring that any development activity is fun and enjoyable is one of the best ways to make sure that people learn.

Like Ann, my main areas of expertise are people management skills and I am therefore a tutor for the Level 5 and Level 3 ILM qualifications. I also develop and run non-accredited programmes to fit the needs of the client.

Another, slightly different, area of expertise is that of recruitment and selection. I have helped several organisations recruit the most suitable key personnel by running assessment centres including exercises and psychometric tests for the candidates!

I get a great deal of pleasure from my work – it's great to see people succeed.

Both Ann and I have also had extensive experience in developing and implementing HR systems such as team briefing and performance management. So if this is what you are looking to do but you're not sure where to start, get in touch!

I joined Arc People Development in 2004 and am responsible for all the administration for the ILM courses. I send out the joining instructions to all the candidates and make sure that all the materials are available for the tutors. I also get involved with booking the venues.

My other major role is that I register all the programme participants with the ILM and make sure the certificates are sent out.

I take a great deal of pride in my work and I do everything I can to make sure that the programmes run as smoothly as possible. Then the participants can get as much as they can from the workshops.
